Bilan B2, sixty minutes one to one
Find out your real level from a person, not an app.
In one hour, I look at how you speak, write and listen in French today. Then I tell you plainly how far you are from B2 and what it will take to get there, and you leave with a written debrief and a study plan built around your calendar.

One payment. 60 minutes on Zoom or Google Meet.
If the Bilan shows this is not your moment, you get a preparation plan and a seat kept for you in the next Objectif B2 cohort.

coaching hours“What I was missing wasn’t really grammar or vocabulary, it was speaking. With Yann we mostly spoke, and that’s how my French really improved. I passed the DELF B2, I moved to Paris and I’m doing an internship there now.”
“Not only did I pass the DELF B2, I’m now working towards my C1. I’m attending appointments, picking up the phone, and chatting with the other mums at school drop-off without hesitation. I finally feel included at family gatherings.”
“I had been preparing with him for an oral exam, and it went very well: I did successfully pass the exam.”
How the hour goes
Sixty minutes, in this order.
Nothing to prepare. The point is to see your French as it is today, not as it is after a week of revision.
Your story with French
Where you learned it, where it stalled, and where you use it today.
Your objectives, in detail
Which exam, which deadline, and what depends on it, whether that is a nationality file, a job or a university place.
Where you are with the language now
How it feels to speak it, what you avoid, and what you already do well without noticing.
A short writing task
A few minutes in exam conditions, so I can see how you build a text when nobody is helping.
A short listening task
A recording in the exam style, to see what you catch and what slips past you.
Your questions
The last minutes are yours, about the exam, the format or the plan.
What you leave with
Everything I saw, written down.
A full written debrief
Everything I noticed during the hour, on paper, so you can come back to it when motivation dips.
An estimated score
Where you would land if you sat the exam now, so the distance to B2 is a number rather than a feeling.
Your strengths and weaknesses, mapped to the exam
Each of the four parts, listening, reading, writing and speaking, with what is already solid and what is costing you points.
A study guide for your situation
What to work on and in which order, at a pace that fits your working week and your deadline.
Targeted resources
Picked for your weak spots, rather than a list of everything that exists online.
Is the Bilan for you?
It is, if
- You need B2 on paper, for a nationality file, a residence permit, a job or a university, and you want to know how far away it really is.
- You are preparing the DELF B2 or the TCF and want a plan built around your exam date.
- You want someone to tell you your real level to your face, rather than a score from an app.
- You want a realistic calendar before you commit months of evenings to it.
It isn’t, if
- You are below B1. The exam format will be too much for now, and the Bilan would only confirm it.
- You want a first conversation about your French. That is what the free 25-minute call is for.
If it is not your moment
There is no refund, and I’d rather say so up front. What you get instead is this. If the Bilan shows you are not ready for the coming exam, you leave with a preparation plan and a seat kept for you in the next Objectif B2 cohort.
A word from Yann
Why I do it this way
Most people who come to me with a B2 deadline have already been told their level by something. Usually it was an app, or a placement test from a school that needed to fill a class. What they never got was a person looking at their French and telling them the truth, including the parts that are uncomfortable to hear.
That is all the Bilan is. One hour with someone on the other side of the screen, and a plan you can actually follow afterwards. If you are ready, I will tell you. If you are not, I will tell you that too, and what to do about it.
Yann
Questions.
Where does it happen?
On Zoom or Google Meet. You pick your time right after paying.
Do I need to prepare anything?
No. Find a quiet spot and have a pen and paper ready. Preparing would only hide what I am there to see.
Is it only for the nationality file?
No. It is for anyone who needs B2 on paper, for a file, a job or a university, whether through the DELF B2 or the TCF.
How is this different from the free call?
The free call is 25 minutes to see which path fits you, and I don’t assess your level on it. The Bilan is the assessment itself, with the tasks, the estimated score and the written plan.
Can I get a refund?
No. The hour happens and the debrief is yours, whatever it says. If it shows this isn’t your moment, you get a preparation plan and a seat kept for you in the next cohort.
Give it one hour.
You will know where you stand and when you can realistically sit the exam, with a plan to get there.
